GOP May Capitulate on Drill Here, Drill Now
Unless we take immediate action, some conservative legislators may cave in and give up when it comes to giving the American people a measure of energy independence and relief from high prices at the gas pump.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid just played his trump card, which is the political equivalent of blackmail and extortion.
Simply put, Reid is telling conservatives in Congress to give up on “drill here, drill now” … agree to “sham” legislation that will increase your taxes and drive up your cost for gasoline at the pump … or he’ll make sure conservatives take the blame for shutting down the government.

I saw this video at Compass Points. His memories of that day, of his son at Parris Island preparing to graduate from Marine Corp boot camp, and of his wife working in NYC just blocks away from the towers, are certainly worthy of the click and the read.

Asheville, NC — Spiritual activist group Coven Oldenwilde has issued an open call for area Nature-lovers, Pagans, and Wiccans to join them in publicly casting magic spells to stop a developer from destroying one of Asheville’s most beloved flourishing icons: the majestic Magnolia tree in front of City Hall.
My former employer, with whom I’ve maintained an almost daily e-mail correspondence, told me about this today when I sent him a link to this video that I saw over at the Grouchy Old Cripple’s Place:
He wants to know one thing. How do these people have all this time on their hands, and still manage to support themselves? I pointed out that they don’t - we (the working class) support them.
