A former Italian seminary student says he did not. He’s written a book entitled “The Fable of Christ”, in which he claims to “prove” that Jesus is a fable, based upon the history of John of Gamala, the 1st century Jew who fought against the Roman army. Now, he is suing a priest who writes for a Catholic newspaper, charging him with two crimes: Abuso di Credulita Popolare (Abuse of Popular Belief), meant to protect the people of Italy from being swindled, and Sostituzione di Persona (Impersonation).
