badge.jpgFrom The Drudge Report and WBAL-TV comes this story about a young Virginia couple who got lost in Baltimore after leaving an Orioles game at Camden Yard.

They flagged down and asked Officer Natalie Preston, a six-year veteran of the Baltimore Police Department, for directions. Not only did she refuse to help them, she refused to allow her partner to help them, and then arrested them for trespassing when they pulled to the curb to use a cell phone to call someone for directions back to I-95. The couple spent the night in the jail before being released. No charges were filed against them.

I realize that this is only one side of the story – Baltimore P.D. declined to comment – but I feel that if they had a defense for Officer Preston's actions, they would have used it.
