WASHINGTON, DC – Congress is considering sweeping legislation which provides new benefits for many Americans. The Americans With No Abilities Act (AWNAA) is being hailed as a major legislation by advocates of the millions of Americans who lack any real skills or ambition.
"Roughly 50 percent of Americans do not possess the competence and drive necessary to carve out a meaningful role for themselves in society," said Senator Barbara Boxer. "We can no longer stand by and allow People of Inability to be ridiculed and passed over. With this legislation, employers will no longer be able to grant special favors to a small group of workers, simply because they do a better job, or have some idea of what they are doing."

This is painfully close to reality! Shades of Kurt Vonnegut!
Can I apply for this? I need some financial help and I don’t wanna actually work hard for it.
Heheheee!

A former girlfriend (who I unfortunatley stayed with MUCH too long) insisted that the only reason I made four times what she did was because of (what LawDog calls) my wedding tackle. Not the fact that I have a BS and MS degree in Comp Sci as opposed to her AA degree in Women’s Studies (and what the (BLEEP) does one do with an AA in Women’s Studies???), not the fact that I was working 60 hours a week as a programmer and she was working 15 hours per week as a phone operator (ok, the earlier question is answered). No, it was all about the plumbing. I’ll bet she’s cheering for the AWNAA to pass.

As a former USPS employee, I can say without irony that the union supports that view, even though in this case it’s satire. No one should be awarded for their efforts, because everyone works to the best of their abilities, you see, even the one taking a nap over there. That is the extent of their ability at that time……
