“Give me the making of the songs of a nation and I care not who writes its laws”

I have a friend in Jamaica. We’ve never met, but we’ve been internet chat/e-mail/telephone buddies for about six years now. His name is Phillip, and he’s a young musician in Kingston.

Phillip has started a blog, and I just paid him a visit there. He has only four posts up as of this writing, but he has quite smoothly mixed music, religion and politics into them, and made it all quite interesting and relevant. He is fascinated by the cultural differences between the US and Jamaica, and amazed by some of the things we Americans take for granted (like gun ownership … he can’t imagine it!). Apparently, he is disbelieving of the current storms over illegal immigration (read his post titled “Jamaican Guard the Borders blogburst entry“)

Please check him out at Phillip Blair (Dot) Com … tell him Morning Glory sent you, and wish him a HAPPY BIRTHDAY (July 7)!
