glennford025.jpgGlenn Ford passed away yesterday, at age 90.  He is best known for his very successful acting career, starring in classics such as Gilda and The Big Heat, but he was also a highly decorated veteran.  LawDog has written a complete accounting of his military career.

He was Clark Kent’s earthly foster father in the 1978 film of Superman, though probably his single best-known starring role was that of the idealistic young teacher in the once-controversial Blackboard Jungle (1955), one of a wave of films to tackle the subject of teenage delinquents around that time.
