Elizabeth Edwards, wife of Democrat Presidential-hopeful John Edwards, says she is “scared of the “rabid, rabid Republican” who owns property across the street from her Orange County home – and she doesn’t want her kids going near the gun-toting neighbor.

“I wouldn’t be nice to him anyway,” Edwards said in an interview.

Edwards views Johnson as a “rabid, rabid Republican” who refuses to clean up his “slummy” property just to spite her family, whose lavish 28,000-square-foot estate is nearby on 102 wooded acres.”   (Source)

This is the same woman who told Katie Couric in an exclusive interview on March 24th, “I’ve often said that the most important thing you can give your children (is) wings. Because, you’re not gonna always be able to bring food to the nest. You’re… sometimes… they’re gonna have to be able to fly by themselves. ” ( Source)

These children are ages 6 and 8.  They don’t need Mom home if she’s busy campaigning for Dad to become president, but she’s afraid of the neighbor because he has a Rudy Giuliani sign in the yard?  Does she really think that this man has allowed his family home to run to disrepair just to “spite” her?  I think she’s giving herself a little too much importance in this man’s life.
