airsplint.jpgAt the insistence of my sister and my son, I went to the Dock-In-A-Box (Rapid Care Center) this morning and had my ankle X-rayed.  It is NOT broken.  I do have a torn ligament (an “inflexion tear”) that will continue to cause pain and swelling for probably about two weeks.  I have been outfitted with an air splint, and instructed to stay off it as much as possible and take ibuprofen or naproxen 3x daily to reduce swelling and relieve pain.  It’s my right foot, so driving is somewhat of an adventure, but not too difficult.  I took the whole day off today, but I plan to be back at work tomorrow.

The biggest problem is that last year after the flood my office was moved upstairs.  That puts me on the second floor of a building with no elevator.  Everything else is on the first floor — the bathroom, the copy machine, the mailroom, the fax machine, the coffee pot, the entrance/exit.  All this requires me to go up and down 15 stairs at least 5 or 6 times a day.
